Yup yup, today is the day where almost everyone dreads. It's the reopening of school! Yeah, kind of miss my former school, Victoria School. But no fears, because I am in Victoria Junior College now! Passing Victoria School in my father's car brought back many memories: secondary 1 life, NPCC trainings, my form teachers, doing my part for Speech Day as part of the Guard-Of-Honour contigent, and so on. But I have to come back to reality. I must face my destiny. I must realise my goals. So there I am, sitting in the front seat, wearing long pants for the first time in 2006, with a VJC badge pinned to my shirt collar, with my trusty 3-year old bag on my lap, ready to get off the car and walk into the college. And I did. There were so many new faces there, I didn't know who they were. Luckily a couple of Victoria School mates met up with me and together, we went up to our classroom. Yup. Roomier than my former one. And air-conditioned. Haha. So we put down our bags and went to the Electives Hub (some air-conditioned room again) for a talk by some of the teachers and the principal. Talked about their expectations in us and several leadership opportunities available. Yup. Then we moved into a lecture theatre to take some sort of personality test. I was one of the slowest to complete the test. Reason: Don't ask me why. After that we changed into our orientation shirt and PE shorts and moved off to the hall for some announcements and allocation to 1 of the 8 groups there in ths orientation. They were Valhala (some place in heaven where fallen heroes are brought up by valkyries to this realm) , Inferno (poor girl selling matchsticks on a snowy night and meeting a laksa-selling boy, who gave her some Magical Laksa, and they became people on fire) , Chronos (some manipulator of time) , Thor (lightning god with a hammer), Osmoze (water god and the only creature which has water in the 8), Razzle (manipulator of time), Icis ( some hero with a body temperature of -927854 degrees Celsius and owns a pet penguin) and Animagus ( I suppose you know who this is) . I was in Osmoze, and am so proud of it! Yup, after that, lunch! Paid $2 for some packet of wanton noodles. Didn't really taste good, but as long as it was edible, it's okay. Played some games, some which were really unusual, like an egg evolving into Chicken Little, Animal Farm, and blah blah blah. There was this fashion parade at the end of the whole thing, and my group chose Desmond Tan (NPCC cadets in Victoria School will know who he is) to be the 'model'. The girls in my group were in charge of dressing him up with given materials. In the end, after around 15 minutes, he was a trash bag for a sarong, a bandana, another bandana for a face mask. The girls, umm, made some kind of bra using a styrofoam box and large paper hearts on top of it and wanted Desmond to wear it, but the styrofoam box tore while fitting it on Desmond, so too bad. I was laughing my head off at the sight of it. Well, we didn't win anything for that. With that, we were dismissed. I just can't wait for tomorrow........................
