Another painful morning, having to persuade my senses and ego to get up at 6am. Gosh, I am going to have to do this for 3 days straight................sigh. Yeah, changed into PE attire and carried my breakfast and eating it on the way to my father's car. Reached school at around 7.10am. Man, I was the 9th person to reach there, which means I am one of the early birds. Haha. A banner painting session will follow the meeting held on the spot when I came. There were 4 groups, each group having a unique name for itself. My group was called Red Ravenous Phoenix, which meant that it contained people who were REALLY hungry, ready to devour anyone who strayed across our paths. Haha, just kidding. I was supposed to write the name 'Ravenous Phoenix' on several bits of cloth, which were meant to be worn around the left wrist, identifying which group you were from. I did 10 of such ID bands, but sadly, only 5 people from our group turned up! This meant lack of manpower and might slow down our process with the banner painting. Nevertheless, us secondary 2 Victorians have pure experience from last year's painting session, and therefore knew how to manage time and execute tasks properly. There came attendance taking. My group leader was like a total memory card, being able to account for the 13 people who didn't turn up. Next, the painting starts. Down goes the newspapers, to disallow the paint being used later to stain the ground. Next comes the large piece of cloth, which was meant to be 'graffitied'. After fetching paint, we started work. It would have been fun if it wasn't for the fact that the secondary 3s', who were in charge of this, kept 'snatching and stealing' our possessions and painting materials for the fun of it. This system has been a traditional act over the years during the NPCC banner painting sessions, and the tradition has never been broken, partly because it was fun to the people 'stealing' our stuff. In order to get back our stuff, we had to be punished by doing push-ups and other physical exercises for 'lack of alerness'. I mean, what the hell?? Do we actually have to be punished because of the secondary 3s' childish acts like 'stealing' our stuff while we paint our banner? Unfair, totally................I nearly lost my temper when the whole horde of secondary 3s' came and surrounded my group's painting area, and using decoys to 'steal' our stuff when we were unawares. I was going to stand up and scream at them when a fellow group member tapped me on the back and said, ' Don't push it.' I would have argued and fought for my stuff if it weren't for the fact that they were seniors.............grrrrrr. We literally 'lost' 5 bags, 4 cups of paint, 7 paintbrushes, and saved our group flag from 4 secondary 3s', who were attempting to tug it away, meagerly. Minus all this, our flag turned out pretty good, and then decided to start on the banner tomorrow. Paint all over my hands, fingernails, legs, and clothes. Got to get back and get rid of all these and think of a new alert system...................................................................................
